Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville ignited a firestorm on Wednesday night, demanding the federal government to “IMMEDIATELY BAN all ISLAM immigrants and DEPORT every single Islamist who is living among us” -- hours after an Afghan national ambushed and shot two National Guardsmen near the White House.

The two members of the West Virginia National Guard, both newly sworn-in, still remain in critical condition on Thursday as of 8:40 a.m. PT, after being shot in what authorities are investigating as a "targeted ambush" just blocks from the White House. Both have also been identified by D.C. authorities.

President Donald Trump has called the Washington D.C. shooting that critically injured two National Guard troops "an act of terror."
